A spray dryer is a drying device that processes solutions, suspensions, or slurry materials. The basic process is that the material liquid passes through the atomizer to form mist droplets and are dispersed in the hot air flow. The air is sent to the air heater for preheating through the blower, and then enters the spray dryer, where it is dried in contact with the droplets. Part of the product falls into the bottom of the tower and is separated from the gas, and the other part is sucked into the cyclone separator by the induced draft fan. After separation, the tail gas is emptied. Airflow spray dryer got its name because it uses airflow atomizer. The working principle of the airflow atomizer is to use high-speed airflow to split the liquid film. High-speed airflow uses compressed air. The flow rate of the feed liquid is very low. When the compressed air is ejected from the atomizer at a high ring gap speed, there is a large speed difference between the two, which causes friction and shear force between the gas and liquid. The liquid is instantly drawn into long thin filaments, and these liquid filaments quickly break down in the thinner places to form tiny mist droplets. The centrifugal spray dryer mainly uses the high-speed rotating force of the rotary atomizer to throw out the droplets, which are also dried into powder or granules after being dried by hot air. The spray dryer is of both centrifugal and airflow type. When the experiment requires powder, the airflow type is used. The airflow type has a long service life and is not easy to damage.
